All of you who know Future Living Hertford understand that we specialise in offering group therapy and counselling to those in recovery from addictions or an abusive relationship. Collecting valuable data over the past year has evidenced the need to employ a whole family approach to the work – everyone’s invited and everyone’s involved.
Through our partners, Carers in Hertfordshire we now deliver 6 week courses for friends and families of those with loved ones with addictions. Our next programme starts on Wednesday 27th June at 9.30. For further details and to register contact Future Living on 01992 537344. Its all free and lunch is included!
Our other new project is Kick It for Young people who had experienced a difficult childhood for a variety of reasons. During 2017 we delivered a pilot programme, the results with one particular client were amazing. She was able to voice her fears through music and actually recorded two of her songs! Take a look at her music on our additional project website, Progress for Women at http://www.progressforwomen.co.uk or go to https://youtu.be/cWpsZanXN4U
We have also reopened our Community cafe to the public on a Wednesday from 9.30 until 2.30 at Vale House. This is now a popular meeting place where people can make new friends and sign up for workshops on things that interest them.
As Future Living are Lead Champions for Domestic Abuse in East Herts we pride ourselves in providing free therapy for women who have left an abusive relationship. The cafe and drop in centre provides a safe space for women to access a therapist, talk through things that impact them and find help on a variety of topics, such as housing, benefits and children in care. Our own domestic abuse clients meet up there on occasion to support each other and make new friends.
Finally, and most importantly, we are extending our service to include a Tuesday evening to offer reasonably priced personal counselling to the public. We have a variety of counsellors who support clients with a wide range of difficulties at a highly competitive rate of £25 per hour in a confidential and secluded setting. Onsite parking is available. |Tel: 01992 537344 for further details.
