The Monica Programme – a unique domestic abuse programme for women supported by caring counselling professionals
The Monica Programme is the name given to the ongoing support group therapy offered at Future Living Hertford. A female only and safe environment for survivors of abuse and assault, whether it be current or historical. A small group of women who support each other and embark upon a full programme of psycho-education to help heal them, together with workshops and coping strategies. The Monica Programme also offers weekly one to one counselling for clients for varied lengths of time dependent on need.
Responding to requests from clients to continue to engage with Future Living once the programme has finished, we have been funded to research a Suffragette connection to modern day abuse. This is an ongoing project and clients from the Monica Programme can join at any time.
Assessments are being taken now and clients can self refer if they wish by telephoning Sandra on 01992 537344. This is a discreet, safe and non judgemental setting in which to heal. Clients from this group are also able to access other groups within the service.
