Domestic abuse affects many people throughout all walks of life – it is not limited to any particular gender or social group.
Being a survivor of domestic abuse and violence is a transitional time for all, a time to look at the future, to break away from old patterns of behaviour and habits ~ a new start.
Often survivors need help and support in embracing the future, things like managing money, tenancies, employment, children, being a single parent perhaps or for the first time making decisions on your own.
The Monica project exists to support this transitional time in women’s lives.
