As a part of our ongoing education work within Future Living we are delighted to offer a new Domestic Abuse Recovery course commencing on Monday 6th September 2021 at our premises in Vale House, 43 Cowbridge, Hertford SG14 1PN

The course covers twelve modules over 12 weeks, every Monday from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m., surrounding recovery from domestic abuse.  It quips students in understanding the terminology of domestic abuse, identifying types of domestic abuse and supports those who have had traumatic experiences.  Additional time required for coursework, reading and home work. The Monica Programme is  a CBT based empowerment module for ladies who have experienced domestic abuse either as a child and/or an adult.  It is a solution focused course.

It also discusses the impact on children living in an abusive household and the damage to their development over time, and the potential impact it may have in their adult lives, particularly on mental wellbeing.

The course is accredited by the University of Hertfordshire and is valued at 15 credits at Level 4 as part of social care.

Places are limited and very popular on this course at Future Living, and early registration is recommended. There are two registration requirements, firstly with Future Living to secure a place – please register here

Secondly, with the University of Hertfordshire to secure accreditation after passing the exam.

The cost of the 12 week course is £650 per person, including examination fees.

Once registered a guided learning manual will be provided.
