The range of services offered by Future Living Hertford is growing! Our charity is excited to be able to add Lego Therapy to our range of therapies for children and young people. This will complement our existing list of therapies for children and young people which include: art, drama, play, and talk therapy.

What is Lego Therapy?

Lego-based Therapy was developed in the mid-1990s by US pediatric neuropsychologist Daniel LeGoff. It is a small group based therapy and is particularly effective for children with Neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism & ADHD or children who may need support with their emotional and social well being for a wide range of reasons, (anxiety, attachment difficulties or adverse life experiences).

How does it work?

A Brick-by-Brick® Facilitator will be delivering individual, one to one sessions, which will run for 12 weeks at a time.  Initially we will be working with 6 – 8 year olds but can open the age range up to older children upon request.

Who does Lego Therapy do?

Lego Therapy can help children learn skills like turn-taking, sharing, listening, conversation, teamwork, shared attention and problem-solving. You may be wondering, what does Lego therapy do? Expected outcomes from the sessions include

  • Increased social interaction and communication
  • Personal and emotional well being
  • Positive experiences,
  • Improved self esteem and confidence
  • Greater concentration and attention
  • Higher level of tolerance of uncertainty
  • Emotional regulation
  • Improved sense of identity and belonging

The cost of this child therapy is £30 per session.
