This year Future Living are taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge. The challenge is a great match funding opportunity. This gives us the chance to double any donations which are made.

What is our campaign for?

Our campaign is focused on supporting children and young people’s mental health. With any funds raised from the project going towards a range of therapies and projects for our younger clients. Future Living offers play, art, talk and drama therapy for children and young people and are aware of the positive impact such interventions can have on their mental health. One of our clients said: ‘’Art therapy has helped with my mental health massively. It gets me into school at the beginning of the week compared to last year when my attendance was lower’.

It is estimated that 1 in 6 children will experience a mental health problem in their lifetime. We know only too well of the importance of early intervention. Offering services which are both fun and expressive is a great way to get young people to engage. We value the fact that everyone is different and know that what might work for one child, may not be as effective for another. Our therapies give children and young people a safe outlet where they can express themselves fully, whilst exploring their emotions.

How your pledge or donation could help

Sadly, with the current economic crisis, funding is not as readily available to charities like Future Living  to enable us to offer vital services such as these. That’s where you come in! You can play a role and help us make a difference to the lives of more young people. We are looking for supporters and local businesses to make a minimum pledge of £100 to our campaign. If our target of £2,500 is reached from pledges alone, we have the chance to receive champion funding from The Big Give up to the same amount.

Following this, we then have a donation week, which runs from 28th November – 5th December. During this time, members of the public can also make a donation, which will essentially be doubled through our pledges and champion funding. We appreciate that times are hard for many people given the current situation so any support you can give with our Big Give Christmas Challenge really would be greatly appreciated not just by our team but also by the young people we will be able to support as a result.
