The gift of giving

Nursery Xmas donations

A hard time of year…

This time of year is all about spending time with loved ones and making special memories. But if you have children you will be all too aware that Christmas to them, is also about presents! And let’s face it, this time of year can be expensive. Particularly if you have more than one child to buy for.

The sad fact is that this year, some families are forced to tighten their belts. Due to rising costs elsewhere this could mean fewer presents under the tree, or even worse….no presents at all!

How a local nursery helped….

We were approached by local Nursery chain, Childbase who told us how they collect Christmas Presents each year which are very generously donated by the parents of the children who attend their Nurseries. Hertford Barns Day Nursery got in touch to say: We are aware of how domestic violence can deeply affect the lives of all family members including the children and so we are looking to do something to support our local families within our area”. The nursery set up a giving tree where parents from the nursery could leave a gift for a child who may otherwise not receive a present this year.

The generosity of others…..

We gladly accepted this kind offer and were left completely overwhelmed by the amount of gifts we received. Some of the staff kindly came to deliver the gifts to Future Living Hertford. We were even more surprised that the donated presents were also beautifully wrapped and labeled according to gender and age. We expressed our thanks to the staff for organising the initiative and the parents for their generosity.

A big thank you!

The team at Future Living would like to say a big thank you to all the parents who donated a gift. These gifts will make such a difference to families who are struggling and will bring so much happiness to the children who receive them.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and thank you for your kindness. There really is not greater gift than the gift of giving!
