It’s no secret that the country is currently feeling the effects of the rising costs of living. Many of us are having to choose between putting food on the table or heating our homes. Sadly, as a result, other needs deemed as ‘non essential’ are pushed aside.

Help is at hand……

In  turn this can have a detrimental effect on our physical and mental health. In time this can lead to more serious problems further down the line. Help is needed, help and support that comes without or at a highly reduced cost.

Thanks to a grant we have received from The Community Organisation Cost of Living Fund, Future Living in partnership with local food banks, are now able to do just that. It’s peace  of mind for our clients to know that when they reach out for help, we can meet their needs. It’s even better for Future Living. As a charity to have funding which allows us to be the answer for our clients is welcome news.

How will the grant help?

The grant is a contribution towards the services the charity runs. These have been exacerbated by the cost of living crisis. As well this it will also go towards  emergency food and essential supplies for food banks. We have seen a rise in the number of referrals we have received. Devastatingly, the cost of living crisis itself is causing additional stress to many people, leading to a decline in their mental health.

Our services are needed now more than ever. With the help of this grant, we will continue to be a lifeline for so many who are in need.

Our services….

The services we offer include 2 gender specific programmes for survivors of domestic abuse. Wise Guys for men and The Monica Programme for women. These programmes are vital in helping those who have encountered the trauma of domestic abuse move on with their lives and aid them in their recovery journey.

The grant will also offer a contribution towards our counselling service as well as  a range of therapies and groups for adults and children running at the charity.
