Future Living wins a third High Sheriffs Award!

As CEO of Future Living I was honoured and humbled to receive the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire’s Award for our work with children and young people last week. The work commended was for our free Sugar Foot Boxing classes, a safe place for young people  to explore their anger and emotions. Run by Ali – a qualified boxing coach and Leon, a well known local hero of Simon Balle School.

I attended the event  with Ceri Westcott, the Clinical Lead for Children & Young People at Future Living, along with Charles Fraser the Treasurer on the Board and Christopher Melluish, a trustee and previous Chairman of the Board at Future Living.

It was the first hybrid event for Hertfordshire Community Foundation, the organisers, inviting guests online and in person, which was a huge success and a thoroughly enjoyable evening for all.  Thank you for all your hard work at HCF and putting together some wonderful short videos of the winners work.  Thank you also for the exception buffet.

It was a real joy to attend something face to face at last after the long cold period of lockdown.

I was really inspired by the many charities that the High Sheriff, Lionel Wallace, DL, had visited during his time as High Sheriff and their variety of services provided.  There were many I hadn’t heard of but plan to find out more about, offering some really outstanding work for young people.  The winners fully deserved their Awards for having gone more than that extra mile for young people of the county.
