The Future Living team are greatly honoured to share that we have been selected to receive 1 of The Queen’s Green Canopy 350 trees featured in the specially made sculpture named The Tree of Tree’s.

During the Jubilee celebrations, The Queens Green Canopy, a unique tree-planting initiative was launched, inviting people from across the UK to “Plant a tree for the Jubilee” creating a legacy in honour of Her Majesty’s leadership of the Nation, benefiting future generations

The Tree of Tree’s was a beautiful 21 metre sculpture, which was designed by Thomas Heatherwick and was made to mark The Queens Platinum Jubilee. The sculpture symbolised the importance of trees and nature within the Jubilee celebrations, and was a tribute to Her Majesty, who has planted over 1,500 trees all over the world throughout the course of her 70-year reign.

Each tree will be presented in an aluminium pot embossed with Her Majesty’s cypher, which we will display with pride within the Future Living building at Vale House. We were nominated to receive the tree by our very own patron, Robert Voss, CBE CStJ HM Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire and were lucky enough to be one of the Hertfordshire Charities to be accepted for the honourable sculpture.

Initially, we received the wonderful news about the tree before The Queen’s passing. Although the team were of course excited, the following events of Her Majesty’s death have made the tree even more remarkable.

The Tree of Tree’s will be planted in the gardens of Vale House, with a special ceremony being hosted on 10th November 2022 to mark the unique occasion. Robert Voss, CBE CStJ HM Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire will be attending on the day to plant the tree. Further information will be available and please do check back on our website before the date.
