Monica Programme

Our support services

A unique domestic abuse programme for women supported by caring counselling professionals.

The Monica Programme is a specialist, trauma-informed group programme for women affected by domestic abuse, delivered by experienced counselling professionals at Future Living Hertford.

It provides a safe, supportive, women-only space for survivors of both current and historical abuse.

Through small, supportive groups, women come together to share experiences, build understanding and support one another. The programme combines psychoeducation, therapeutic support and practical coping strategies – empowering participants to heal from trauma, rebuild confidence and move forward in their recovery.

About the course

The Monica Programme is a solution-focused CBT course based on empowering ladies who have experienced domestic abuse either as a child and/or an adult.

The course covers twelve modules that are designed to equip students in understanding the terminology of domestic abuse, identifying types of domestic abuse and to support those who have had traumatic experiences.

It also addresses the impact on children living in an abusive household and the damage to their development over time, as well as the potential impact it may have in their adult lives, particularly on mental wellbeing.

Course places are limited and very popular so early registration is recommended.

In September we will be running courses in St Albans and Hertford.

"The group has been very special - a lovely group who were very supportive, kind and funny too. Laughs and a few tears but I always felt safe."
